Ingredients
2 ½ cups flour
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp vinegar
1 cup butter
Red food coloring
8 oz cream cheese frosting
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Whisk dry ingredients together.
3. Mix wet ingredients and combine with dry.
4. Add food coloring and mix until smooth.
5. Pour batter into greased pans.
6. Bake for 30–35 minutes.
7. Cool completely before frosting.
8. Frost and serve.

For richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa.
