Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup warm water
2 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)
1/2 tsp salt
Orange food coloring gel (for dyeing half the dough)
Small pumpkin cookie cutter
Plastic sheet or parchment paper (for layering)
Optional: garlic powder or smoked paprika for added flavor
Instructions
1. In a bowl, combine flour and salt, then slowly pour in warm water and oil.
2. Mix until a dough forms. Divide dough in half.
3. Add orange food coloring to one half and knead until evenly colored.
4. Roll out both doughs separately into thin tortillas.
5. Use pumpkin cutter to punch out shapes from white tortillas.
6. Inlay pumpkin cutouts into orange tortillas or vice versa.
7. Press gently with rolling pin to smooth the surface.
8. Place on skillet over medium heat and toast until golden and bubbly.
9. Serve warm with dips or as a wrap for fall meals.
Notes
Make the dough a day ahead and keep chilled.
You can also use store-bought tortillas and cut/paste with water.
These tortillas freeze well for up to 1 month.
